Fun at the park

After Micah rode his bike at the skatepark for awhile, we walked over to the park next door and Micah and Julia got to play there for awhile. It was a fun day out in the sun!

Bike park

Today is the first official day of summer vacation!! It was such a nice day! It started out slowly, just relaxing at home and then around 3pm I took the kids to Newbury Park so that Micah could ride his bike in the skate park. They have a couple days a week where you can ride your bike there. It was his first time riding his bike on the track, and he had so much fun! He fell a couple of times in the begining because he was trying to do jumps on his bike - but then once he realized what he could and could not do yet, he stopped falling. Dodgers end of season party

Today (June 13th) was Micah's Tball party. Yesterday was his last game, so today we had an end of the season party. We all met at Lemon Park here in Simi. The park is great because in the summer they have a water playground as well. The kids had a great time! We had a BBQ and then cake afterwards. And all of the kids got to run around and play together. It was a great afternoon! We will definitely miss baseball and can't wait until next season!

Paint A Dream

Today after Micah's Kindergarten performance we went out to lunch with my mom and sister in the Simi Valley Town Center. After lunch Micah saw the Paint A Dream store next door and asked if him and Julia could go. He has done such a great job lately behaving extra well and has done really well in school, so I let them go paint. They like Paint A Dream because once they paint an item, the people who work there take the items and fire them in the kiln. Micah painted a jet and Julia painted a puppy. We pick up the items on Wednesday.

Last day of school!

Today (June 11th, 2010) was Micah's last day of Kindergarten!!! This school year went by SO fast! It seems like just yesterday that we were taking him to his first day. Looking back, I can't believe how much he has grown this year! Going into kindergarten, he knew how to spell his name, his colors, shapes, and how to count to 15. Now he knows SO much more! He knows his entire alphabet, how to read basic words, how to count to 100, patterns, and the list can go on and on. It's so hard to believe how much he is growing up. I am SO proud of him! Micah has done an amazing job this past year and I can't wait to see what 1st grade brings! For the last day of school, all of the Kindergartners put on a performance for the parents. They sang about 5 songs. Usually Micah has no interest AT ALL in singing ANY song! However, today he actually sang!!! He sang quietly and took breaks in his singing - but he sang!! After the singing, the kids got to have pizza and cupcakes and then play on their Kindergarten playground for the last time! I will miss his Kindergarten class, and him being in Kindergarten, but we are all excited for 1st grade! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Homework Award!

Today (6/7) was the 3rd trimester homework award ceremony. Micah recieved another homework award (his 3rd this year) for turning in all of his homework for this last trimester. His award had a green sticker on it which means that he had NO missing homework for the entire year! He has done such a great job this year and I can't believe kindergarten is coming to an end!! This is his last week of school!

Julia goes bowling!

Today (06/05) Micah went to a birthday party at a bowling alley and while he was bowling with his party, my sister came along with us and bowled with Julia at a nearby lane. She had SO much fun!! She bowled 4 games by herself and loved every minute of it!! When she would roll the ball down the ramp (the ramp is there to help small children bowl) she would say, "come on! come on! come on!" and then when the ball would knock pins over, she would yell, "SCORE!!". She had SO much fun and can't wait to go back!! Photobucket Photobucket
