Last night Micah had his first Cub Scout Halloween Party! It was the first time he has gotten to meet the rest of his Cub Scout pack. The party was a lot of fun. We had a contest where each den had to mummify their den leaders (a.k.a ME) and Micah and the other 2 boys in his den had a great time doing that! They also had a cake auction. Each of us had to bring in a dessert and it got auctioned off at the end of the night. The rest of the night the kids all got to play together and have fun. It was a good night!
Yesterday (10/15/2010) Julia and I were in the Thousand Oaks mall just walking around. As we passed Claires (a jewelry store that pierces ears) Julia told me she wanted to get her ears pierced. I have been waiting for her to ask me before we did it. She has been asking these past few months, but when I go to take her, she gets up into the chair and then says, "Ummm, actually, lets do it tomorrow!". So then we leave. I thought yesterday was going to be no different. We told the lady she wanted them pierced, we got her into the chair, filled out the paperwork and all the while I kept waiting for her to tell me, "Umm, actually, lets do it tomorrow!", but she didn't! The lady cleaned her ears and marked them and then she pierced them one by one. After the first one, Julia's big smile dropped - but she didn't cry and she let the girl pierce the other one (I was afraid that once the first one was done, she wouldn't do the second). I actually think I was more nervous than Julia was! Once they were all done, Julia loved them and quickly forgot about the little bit of pain.
Today (10/11/10) Julia had a field trip to Underwood Family Farms with her preschool class. We got there at 9am and once we were all checked in, we got to go on a tractor ride. The tractor ride took us on a tour of their whole farm. Julia liked seeing where the blackberrys, squash and pumpkins grew. The tour ended at the pumpkin fields where the kids got to pick their own pumpkins. We picked two out (one for Julia and one to bring home to Micah). Once that was done we walked around the rest of the farm. Julia got to go on a pony ride, a train ride (3 times!), in a bounce house and through a corn maze. She had the best time there!
Micah has been doing SO well playing soccer! This past game, he played better than he ever has before! He ran SO hard to get that ball away from the other team. I love watching Micah play soccer - and he said that out of all of the other sports he has played, soccer is his favorite.
