Max's 4th birthday party

On Saturday, I took Micah and Julia to their cousin Max's 4th birthday party. It was a swim party and the kids had so much fun!! The minute we got there, the kids jumped right into the pool and only got out to eat for about 5 minutes! They were in the pool, or going down the water slide the entire time we were there! Micah and Julia had so much fun and were so excited to be able to go to his party.

Descanso Gardens

On Wednesday (08/05/09), Micah, Julia and I went to the Descanso Gardens with Vanessa and her two little girls, Lila and Siddha. The Descanso Gardens are 150 acres of beautiful gardens from all around the world. They have a Camellia forest, a lilac garden, Japanese garden, California garden, and so many more!! The kids had such a great time running around together and looking at all of the different gardens. Julia especially loved the ponds that had koi fish in them and Micah loved exploring the wooded area.

When she's tired ... she's tired!!

While I was on the computer updating our blog with the last couple posts, I noticed Julia was more quiet than she should be. This could mean only two things, 1. She is getting into trouble or 2. She has fallen asleep. I walked into her bedroom to check on her, and I found her fast asleep half standing, half sitting with Micah's lunch box in her hand!

Outside the Hollyhock house

On Monday (8/4/09), Kenji, the kids and I spent the day with my friend Jessica, her husband and their daughter. Dhillip (Jessica's husband) is an architect in India and was interested in seeing the Hollyhock house ( http://www.hollyhockhouse.net/index.htm ). We were able to walk around the outside, but the inside had already closed for the day. The outside of the house is absolutely gorgeous! It is on top of a hill, and you can see the entire city! You get a great view of the Hollywood sign and of the Griffith Observatory. We plan to visit again on Sunday so we can take a tour of the inside.

Tia Siori

After the Dragon Boat races we went out to dinner with Siori and Fermin to a Japanese resturant by their house (which was SO good!!) and then back to their apartment for a little bit afterwards. The kids just love Tia Siori and Tio Fermin so much and love being at their house!!

Dragon Boat Festival 2009

On Sunday (8/2/09), Kenji, the kids and I went to Long Beach to watch Siori and Fermin race in the 2009 Dragon Boat Festival. It was at the Long Beach Marina. We all had a great time!! The kids were SO excited because they were able to swim and splash around in the marina and run around in the sand. We all really enjoyed watching the Dragon Boats race as well. It was a fun day for everyone!

Ice cream shop

After the Walt Disney Concert hall, Nichole and I took Micah and Julia to a yogurt shop where you serve yourself. The kids loved it because they got to put their own yogurt in their bowl and serve themselves whatever toppings they wanted. They were both very happy!!
