Golden Bear Award

Today (Sept. 24th), Micah had an assembly at school and durring the assembly, he was awarded a Golden Bear award for being responsive to instructions and having a positive attitude! Kenji and I are SO proud of him for doing so well in Kindergarten!! Micah was SO happy to receive the award and special Hollow Hills Elementary button!

Dodger Game

On Sunday (9/20/09), Kenji and I took Micah and Julia to their very first professional baseball game! It also happened to be Kenji's first baseball game! We all had such a great time! Micah loved watching the game and all of the excitement in the stadium as the Dodgers won! Julia didn't really know what was going on, but she still had a great time watching everything around her!

Simi Valley Days 2009

Every September, Simi Valley puts together a carnival and parade for Simi Valley Days. The past two years, the carnival has been at the park that is just down the street from us. I took Micah and Julia on the first night that it opened, and they had an amazing time! It was so nice because NO ONE was there on the first night! The kids didn't have to wait in any line for any ride! Micah's favorite ride was the big slide and Julia's favorite was the carousel (this was the first year she was able to go on any ride!). I let the kids stay until they got so tired that Micah asked to go home!

Last night and this morning I have been watching Ava (my friend Jessica's daughter) and her and Julia have been playing all morning together!

Weekend with Abuela and Abuelo!

This past weekend (8/28-8/30), Kenji's parents were visiting from San Jose. We had such a great weekend with them, as well as with Siori and Fermin.

On Friday, we met that night and went out to dinner with everyone for Shuji's birthday to the Seafood Port in Torrance.

Saturday, the kids and I went to Shuji and Silvia's hotel in Long Beach in the morning, and they were able to go swimming in the hotels indoor swimming pool. They had so much fun!! Micah and Julia both splashed around and played for over an hour. After the swimming pool, we went out to lunch to the Long Beach Cafe. It was so good! And the kids were both very excited to get ice cream sundaes at the end! Then Silvia and I took Micah and Julia to the Long Beach Aquarium. Micah had SO much fun looking at all of the sea life! Julia loved it as well, although she was very tired!! Later that night, everyone got together again to go out to dinner at the Olive Garden. Julia was so tired though, she slept through the entire meal!!

On Sunday, Kenji, the kids and I went to the Long Beach port with Silvia and Shuji. We walked around and looked in the different shops. After, we met Siori and Fermin for lunch at the China Buffet. When we were done with lunch, we took Micah and Julia to Chuck E. Cheese to play some games. They had such a great time!! They love playing there! After Chuck E. Cheese, Silvia and Shuji had to get ready to leave for the airport.

We had such a great weekend with family!!

Today was Micah's very first time having homework! He was excited about doing homework at first, but that excitement lasted for about 2 seconds! Today he had to trace his name once and then write it again by himself 3 times. Since today was his very first time having to do homework, he had a hard time sitting still to do it, but eventually got it done!

Micah had a great first day in Kindergarden! When I picked him up and asked him how his day was, he told me, "Great! I didn't even get one time out or yelled at!"
