Hollow Hills Mother/Son Music Mania
On Friday (Feb. 19th), Micah's school had a Mother/Son Music Mania at the community center. They had a drum company come and play drums for the kids - and they also got to play their own drum. Then they called up any kids who wanted to dance center stage! Micah hopped up out of his seat and danced like no tomorrow!! It was SO cute! After the drums, they had a local teen band play for the kids. Micah LOVED it!! He stood right in front of the stage and danced the whole time!

Presidents Day 2010
Today I took Micah and Julia to the Reagan Library because they had a Presidents Day celebration. The kids had a great time! They had tons of arts and crafts set up for them to do. Both Micah and Julia made a tricorn hat, a log cabin, their own penny, a penny necklace and Presidents day cards. The Reagan library also had a look a like George Washington and Abe Lincoln walking around. Micah thought that was cool, and took a picture with them. Julia didn't like them so much. We all had a great time and the weather was just perfect outside!

Flag football
A couple of months ago Micah brought home a flyer from school for flag football. He was so excited about it and decided he wanted to play. The season began about 3 weeks ago, and he LOVES it! He has practice 2 days a week and games 1 day a week. This is his first time being on any type of organized sports team, so he is still learning to focus on the game. While on the field he is so easily distracted by the birds flying above or the leaves on the ground - but thats what makes it so funny to watch! He loves to play though. The position he plays most often is center.
These are pictures from Micah's first football practice (Micah is #5):

Long time no blog!
Hello! It has been FAR TOO LONG since I have updated our family blog!! Since being back from Christmas vacation I have been so busy with the kids and their schedules! I will be updating the blog with pictures today!
One of the new things that has happened is, Julia is potty trained!! I am so VERY excited to be done with diapers!! She has done AMAZING! About 3 or 4 weeks ago I decided she was ready to be potty trained. She was SO excited to pick out her own big girl undies and she has only had ONE accident in the 4 weeks (the very first day, and not since then!!!) She is doing so great, and we are all very excited about it!!

The Queen Mary
On Saturday, Kenji, the kids and I went to the Queen Mary with Silvia, Shuji, Siori, Fermin, Pilar and Rodrigo. The kids and I had never been there before. The kids had a great time looking around the ship! It was really nice to be able to spend the evening with Kenji's family; especially since we don't get to see them often enough.

Christmas 2009
Christmas is always a busy day in my family! The kids wake up bright and early and they open gifts from Santa and then almost right after opening gifts, we get ready to start the day! After opening presents from Santa, we headed out to my Granddads house for Christmas with my dads side of the family. It was a lot of fun, and so nice to be able to visit with my Dad, Soursdey, her family and my Granddad. Micah and Julia also had a lot of fun playing with Somali.
After my Granddads house we went to my Aunt Debbie's house for Christmas with my moms side of the family. We had a great time! There was tons of family, food and fun! Micah and Julia love running around and playing with their cousins. It's always nice to visit and catch up with everyone!

Christmas morning 2009!
This was the first year that Julia really understood that Santa was going to be coming on Christmas eve and leaving presents for her to open the next morning. So on Christmas morning both of the kids woke up SO excited!! They both ran out into the living room and immediatly started opening their gifts (well they had wait just a few minutes for Kenji to get out of bed). They were both SO happy with their presents from Santa. After every present that Julia opened, she would say, "THANK YOU SANTA CLAUS" (which sounded more like "HANK YOU HANTA HAUS!")
