Getting better!

Micah has been on antibiotics for his staph infection for 4 days now and is already showing great improvement! After only one dose of his medicine, his sores started to dry up. He is feeling much better and his nose isn't hurting him anymore. He is also no longer contagious (Thank goodness!!), but I am still keeping him in the house until he is off of his antibiotics because his immune system is low, and I don't want him catching anything more! He has 6 more days of antibiotics and then we *should* be good to go!

poor Micah!

Micah has been sick on and off now for a couple of weeks. He had a fever on Monday and Tuesday and then seemed to be getting better. I kept him in the house all week though, just to get his immunity back up. Well last night, he had a couple little dots on his nose. Kenji and I thought maybe they were just little pimples. Then this morning, he woke up and two he had on his nose had multiplied into about 10 little dots all over his nose and top lip. By 4pm today (Saturday 9/27) he was crying because they were hurting him so much. I ended up taking him to the doctor to have her look at them, and my poor little Micah has a staph infection! We don't know how he got it, but now he is on antibiotics for 10 days and he has to go back to the doctor if he shows no improvement by Monday. He has been in the house for a week already, and now he has to be in the house for 10 more days while he finishes the antibiotics. I will be sure to post updated on how he is doing. And we are hoping he hasn't passed it along to Julia!

Its been awhile...

Hello everyone! I know I haven't made a post in a couple weeks and I promise to get them going again, but along with the new school year is germs! Micah has only been in school 3 weeks and has only been able to attend half that amount because he keeps coming home sick! He gets sick, Julia gets sick, I get sick and then I pass it along to Kenji. I am hoping we are all better by next week and out of quarantine! Hope everyone else is doing well and I hope to be back to blogging and posting new pictures soon!

Micah's first day back at school

On Monday (9/8) Micah started his second year of preschool. This year he is going to the Conejo Valley Recreational Center Preschool in Thousand Oaks. He was so excited to start school again. He woke up bright and early that morning to get dressed for school and couldn't wait until we got there. We got to his school and he went right in and started playing. I had to go after him to say goodbye! When I picked him up from school he said he had a great day. He said he had a lot of playing, especially on the playground.

Kid's Adventure Garden

On Sunday (9/7) Kenji and I took Micah and Julia to the Kid's Adventure Gardens in the Thousand Oaks Botanical Gardens. The kids loved the adventure garden. There was so much for them to do. They have a treehouse that the children are able to climb up and play in. Julia especially loved that. They also have a tea time play area, a pirate cave and a beehive that the children can all play in. Micah really liked the pirate cave. The gardens also open up into a hiking trail. We crossed the bridge and walked a little bit of the trail with the kids. They had such a great time walking through the gardens and looking at everything. They want to go back soon and go on a longer hike.

Playing with BunBun!

We have had our Bunny, BunBun, for about 3yrs. now and the kids just love him! They are always wanting to play with him and hold him. BunBun is such a great rabbit! He goes right to the kids and lets them pet him and is just so sweet. Julia could sit there all day watching him and petting him. She loves him so much.

Weekend with Abuela and Abuelo!

This past weekend, Kenji had 3 days off from work in a row, so we decided to go to Bakersfield to visit his parents. We got there Saturday afternoon and stayed until Monday afternoon. Everyone had a great time! Siori and Fermin were also there, so we got to visit with everyone. The kids had such a great time! Micah and Julia had the best time swimming in the pool! They both swam every day that we were there. They also had a great time playing with their Abuela and Abuelo and also with their Tia and Tio. Micah was sad when we had to leave on Monday because he was having so much fun. Kenji and I also had a very nice time visiting with everyone. Hopefully we will be able to go back soon to visit!

Micah and Julia

Micah was helping Julia down from the coffee table because she climbed up there and got stuck. After he helped her down, he gave her a big hug to make sure she was ok.

Playing at Creative Leap

One of Micah and Julia's favorite things to do is go to indoor playcenters. We went to a playcenter called Creative Leap. They have a big jungle gym for the kids to climb in and go down on slides. They also have a bounce house, climbing wall, a ball pit and many other toys and activities for the children to play on or with. Micah's favorite thing to do there is go in the bounce house and down the bouncy slide. Julia loves to go down the slides and ride in the big red car. They played nonstop for about 3 hours and still weren't ready to leave when it was time.
