Scooter time at the skate park

Every Wednesday and Friday, the Skateboarding park in Newbury Park has scooter time. I have been taking Micah (and Julia) twice a week to scooter around the skate park. Micah LOVES going there on his scooter because he is able to go down the ramps, and do more tricks than he can on his skateboard. Julia also really enjoys going because I let her take her scooter and ride it just outside of the skatepark (she is much too little to go inside the actual skatepark). Since summer has started, this is how we spend a couple of hours every Wednesday and Friday.

Chuck E. Cheese

Yesterday (7/15), we all went to Chuck E. Cheese for Bessie's 86th birthday! The kids all had a great time playing games and winning prizes. Micah was so excited to see his cousins (Gio, Gabby, Sofia, Dominic and Luca). All the kids had a lot of fun!

Dairy Queen

Yesterday (7/14), we had a busy day!! Micah had camp from 9am - 12pm, and Julia had her toddlers class from 10-11:30am. After their classes, we met up with friends at the park until about 3:00pm. The kids were EXHAUSTED and SO hot from playing outside all day - it was probably in the 90's outside! On our way home, we decided to stop off at dairy Queen for some ice cream. Julia was so happy to have a dipped ice cream cone!

4th of July!

Photobucket

On the 4th of July, we went to the Rancho Santa Susana Park in Simi Valley for their 4th of July fireworks festival. We all had a great time! The kids were especially happy because there was tons for them to do!! Right when we got there, Micah and Julia headed straight for the bounce houses, jolly jumper obstacle courses and water slides! They bounced and went down slides for hours! When they were done bouncing, we headed over to the playground for an hour to let them play. By the time they were done playing, it was time to get snacks and spread out our blanket for the fireworks show.

Both Micah and Julia LOVED the fireworks!! Neither one has been afraid of them, even though they are incredibly loud! The show lasted about 20 minutes and the kids were mesmorized the entire time! When the show was over, Julia kept asking for more!

The entire day was a lot of fun and the kids were SO worn out by the end, they were both asleep in the car before we even got out of the parking lot!

Relaxing in the pool

On Friday (7/3/09), we went to my mom's house for swimming and for a BBQ. Both Micah and Julia wanted to lay on the rafts. Julia LOVED being on there with her glasses on!

Micah's drawings

The other night Micah was drawing some pictures on his Magnadoodle. He was so proud of them, he wanted me to put them on the computer.

The first drawing of Santa's sled, Micah drew the sled and then Kenji added in Santa and the Reindeer.

The Second drawing is a picture Micah drew of our family. He was so excited because he "even drew Daddy's watch!".

My little animal lover

Julia absolutely LOVES any and all kinds of animals! She is a true animal person. If we go anywhere that has a petting zoo (we were at the Farmers market this time), she HAS to go in and pet all of the animals. And more often than not, I catch her trying to pick the goats, chickens, sheep and even the llamas up!! She could sit in there all day long with them!

First tim bowling (Jenna's birthday party)

Last weekend, Jenna (one of Micah's friends) had her birthday party at a bowling alley. Micah and Julia had never been bowling before, and were excited to go. Both Micah and Julia had SO much fun!! It was great for the kids because the lanes had bumpers on them (so the bowling ball actually reached the pins!!) and the bowling alley also had ramps that the kids could roll the ball down, incase it was too heavy for them to roll on their own. They bowled two games each and were so happy!
