Beach day!

Today was our first beach day of the year! Kenji and I thought it would be a perfect time to go since he was off from work, Micah didn't have school and the weather was so beautiful! We took Micah and Julia down to Mother's Beach in Long Beach. It's a great beach for kids because there are no waves and the water is pretty shallow. The kids had a great time! We were there for about 3hrs. and they played in the sand and water the entire time! Julia has been wanting to use her sand toys for so long, and she finally got a chance to today. She didn't stop digging for the entire time we were there!

Since we were down in Long Beach, Siori and Fermin met us down there and hung out at the beach with us for a little while. After the beach we all went out to lunch. It was such a nice day out with the family. We all had a great time!

Mountain biking!

Today Kenji took Micah mountain biking! Micah has been wanting to go for SO long and since Kenji has been on vacation this week, it was the perfect time to go. Julia and I went along with them and walked the trail. Micah had SO much fun and he did amazing!! He was going up and down the hills with very little problem! They rode for almost two hours! At the end though, Micah got too brave and went down a big hill too fast. He crashed at the end and flew off of his bike. He has scratches up his arm and down his leg, but other than that, he is ok. He said he still had a great time and can't wait to go back.

Growing up!

Micah has had a loose tooth for a few months now and has been so excited at the thought of the Tooth Fairy coming. He has been playing with it every day in hopes of making it fall out faster. Today, the tooth finally fell out!! He didn't notice it when it fell out though, and he swallowed it. He was SO upset that he swallowed it because he thought that meant the Tooth Fairy wouldn't show up. I explained to him that she would still know that he lost the tooth, and she would still visit. He was so happy!

Open House

Tonight was Open House at Micah's school! We got to go into his classroom to see all of the work he has done. I work a lot in his classroom, so I get to see everything all of the time, but its nice for Kenji (and my mom who went) to see what he is learning. The children all made life size duplicates of themselves, and they were sitting in their seats when we walked in. The whole classroom was filled with their artwork and it was so cute.

The cafeteria was turned into an art studio that was filled with different art projects from throughout the year. Every week for 10 weeks, 2 other moms and I would help the kids create an art project and we hung them all up for everyone to see.

Micah's 6th birthday party!!

Micah had his 6th birthday party today (May 15th) with all of his friends from school and outside of school. The party was at Bright Child. It's a HUGE indoor playcenter. Micah had SO much fun!! He had about 30 friends there! I hardly saw him the entire time because he was so busy playing with all of his friends. The party was 2hrs. and he got to play, get air brushed tatoos, eat pizza and cupcakes!

Colonial Days

Last week the Reagan Library had a Colonial Days event. I always take the kids to the Reagan Library events because they always have SO much fun there! This time was no exception. Micah and Julia had a lot of fun. They both started out a little shy and didn't want to do anything, but after walking around for a little bit, they both got into it and had a really great time. They had a lot of displays of tools, doctors offices, leather, wool spinning, etc. from the colonial days. They also had a lot of arts and crafts and games set up. They both made satchels, pomanders and writings from a feather pen. They also got to play a lot of old games like Graces, Whirligigi's, Jacobs Ladder and Tabletop Ninepins. Micah and Julia both had a really great time and they came home exhausted!!
