Transformer Convention

On Saturday (May 30th), Kenji and I took Micah and Julia to the Transformer Convention in Pasasena. Micah had seen the commercial for it, and begged to go! He was SO happy when we told him he could go.

When we got there, there was a 2 1/2hr. wait to get in!! Surprisingly both Micah and Julia did extremely well in the line!! When we got inside, Micah was SO excited! There were people dressed up in Transformer costumes and TONS of tables that sold transformers! Micah got to look at ALL of the tables and then he got to pick out a few Transformers. He was beyond happy because he found a couple that he wanted that we could not find in the toy stores.

At the end of the day, Micah said it was the best day he ever had!

Swimming at Grandma's house

The weather is getting warmer, so the kids are able to have more swim days at Grandma's house! Micah is doing so well with his swimming - and no longer needs a life vest. Julia loves being in the water - and thinks she knows how to swim, because she just wants to jump right in!!

Cho Cho San

On Saturday (May 23rd), Kenji's parents came down to take Micah, Julia and I to lunch at Cho Cho San for Micah's birthday. Micah LOVES Cho Cho San, and was so excited to go! He loves to watch the chef cook the food right in front of us, and he also enjoys the show the chef puts on by flipping the food up in the air and making a volcano out of onions. Julia also really enjoyed watching the chef cook. Micah also REALLY loves the food!! He ordered steak, and ate all of it!!

At the end of the meal, the waitress surprised Micah by dressing him up as a Samurai and singing happy birthday to him and bringing him a big ice cream sundae!

Disneyland!!

Photobucket

On Tuesday (May 19), Kenji and I took Micah and Julia to Disneyland! We surprised Micah for his 5th birthday. We had told him we had a surprise for his birthday, but he didn't know we were going to Disneyland until we got into the parking lot. He was SO excited when he realized where we were.

Everyone had a GREAT time! We were there from 10am - 10pm!! Micah went on almost every single ride (except the big rollercoasters) and Julia went on a lot as well. Micah's favorite ride was a little circus train and the Dumbo ride. He also really enjoyed the Buzz Lightyear ride and was excited that he won. Julia's favorite rides were It's A Small World, and the circus train. And another favorite of both Micah and Julia was the Nemo submarine ride. We had never been on it before, and the kids loved it - Micah really thought we were deep down in the ocean where Nemo lives!

The kids (and Kenji and I!!) were exhausted by the end of the day!! We only sat down for lunch and dinner, and the rest of the 12hrs. was spent going on all of the rides. The kids has the best time ever and Kenji and I were so happy that they enjoyed themselves SO much!!

Swimming on our balcony!

Photobucket
Micah and Julia LOVE to be in the water, so today I found a little blow up pool at Target and decided to get it for the kids and put it on the balcony. And although this plan wasn't completely thought out (had to get a tube for our pump and then carry a million pots of water back and forth from the kitchen to the balcony), they ended loving it and have been playing in it for hours!

Mother's Day at Judi's

Photobucket

On Mother's Day (5/10), Kenji and I went to Judi's house along with my mom, Devon, Nichole, Kristin and Richard and their family. Micah and Julia had SO much fun because Judi and Bill have a little pool built into their deck, and built into the pool are jets that shoot water out that you have to swim against. Micah would hold onto the hand bars and then let the water shoot him across the pool. He was in there for hours and probably could have stayed in all night!! Julia loves the water as well, and she hates that she has to hold my hand or Kenji's hand while she is in the water - I think she is convinced that she knows how to swim, because she kept trying to let go of us and jump into the water. They both had a great time and didn't want to leave!

Micah's family birthday party

Photobucket

Today (5/9/09), my family got together at my Aunt Debbies house for Mother's Day and for Micah's upcoming birthday. Everyone had a great time. Micah was excited that his cousins (Gio, Gabby, Sofia, Dominic and Luca) were there to play with him! They all had fun swimming in a little pool and playing transformers. Micah was SO excited that he had cupcakes (made by my Aunt Debbie!) and a bunch of gifts to open! He hasn't stopped playing with all of his new toys all night! Julia also had a lot of fun going in and out of the pool and chasing my Aunts dog all around the house!
