Yesterday (Oct. 23) Micah and Julia were laying on my bed watching a movie together. Julia had tried to climb off the bed, and in the process, she fell right off and landed on her left arm. She had started to cry and cried for about half an hour. Its unusual for her to cry that much because she normally calms down after a few minuts. Once she did calm down, I noticed her arm was still hurting her, and she wouldn't use it at all. I took her into the doctor, and the doctor had thought it was nothing. He told me to go home, ice it and give her tylenol. This morning (Oct. 24) her arm was still hurting her ALOT. She hardly slept all night, and couldn't put any pressure on her arm. I took her back into the doctor today. She saw a different doctor, who also thought it wasn't much. I asked him to take xrays, and good thing he did because poor little Julia had fractured her arm in 2 different places! I then had to take her to an Orthopedist. The orthopedist said that her fractures were pretty bad and she was lucky she didn't need surgery. However, she does need a splint on for a week and then on Nov. 3rd Julia will be going back to get a cast on for 3 more weeks! She seems to be doing ok right now, she is just trying to get used to having the splint on her arm. I will post again when she gets her cast put on.

Carving Pumpkins!
Today Micah, Julia and I sat down to carve their pumpkins! Micah was so excited to carve his, and Julia didn't really know what we were doing! Micah had so much fun carving his pumpkin, although he doesn't like to get his hands to messy with the seeds. Once Julia figured out what we were doing, she had a great time as well. She didn't mind sticking her hand in the pumpkin to get the seeds out. They are both very happy with their pumpkins and have been carrying them around all afternoon!

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip
On Monday (10/20) Micah's class had a field trip to the pumpkin patch in Thousand Oaks. Micah and Julia both had a great time! The pumpkin patch had a big bouncy slide, a bouncy house and a couple of rides for the children. Micah played on the bouncy slide almost the entire time! Julia had fun bouncing on the slide as well. She also loved looking at all of the pumpkins. At the end of the field trip, they also got to pick out a pumpkin to take home. Micah was excited that he got to pick out his very own pumpkin. We will be carving them soon, and I will be sure to post pictures of that as well!

The Beach
On Sunday (10/12) Kenji and I took Micah and Julia to a kids haunted house in Ventura. The haunted house was less than thrilling, so fortunately the beach was right across the street. The weather was cool, but the kids still had such a great time walking along the beach finding rocks and sea shells. Micah loved climbing all the rocks on the beach, and Julia was trying to get as close to the water as she could. They had a lot of fun.

Micah's school artwork
Last year in preschool, Micah never had any artwork to take home with him because he was never interested in sitting down to work on a project. This year, he comes home with new art projects every day that he has class. He gets so excited to show off his artwork and really enjoys sitting down to work on projects now.

Mall Playcenter
I have had to keep Micah and Julia in the house for awhile now, but Micah finally got the ok to go out again. He has been going stir crazy in the house! I just took them up the street today to the outdoor mall so they could play a little bit. They had a great time and were able to run around and get all of their stored up energy out!

Learning Letters!
Since Micah has been out of school almost 2 weeks now, we have been spending more time at home learning to read his name and spell his name. He has been learning how to write each letter in his name. These pictures are from the very first day he has tried to write his name out. He is doing so well, and is so proud of himself for writing his letters. I can't believe he is getting old enough to start this! Where does the time go?! In these pictures, I have written the letter for him on the left and he has copied it on the right.
