Micah goes to the dentist

Today (2/24/09) Micah had his very first dentist appointment for a cleaning! He had never been before, so I wasn't sure how he was going to do, but he did GREAT! He let the dentist take X-rays with no problem, and he was so still and well behaved while they were cleaning his teeth. We are glad to report no cavaties!

Every couple weeks or so, Micah's friend Matthew comes over to play with him. They have such a great time together while Matthew is here. They love to run around and play or sit down together to watch a show.

Snow day!

Kenji had the day off from work today (2/18/09), so we decided to take Micah and Julia to Frazier Park to play in the snow. We went to the park and they had a TON of snow for the kids to play around in!! They were bundled up nice and warm and had an amazing time sledding, building a snowman and running around in the snow.

Micah was so excited to build a snowman for the very first time, and he was so proud of it! He also had a GREAT time sledding! He kept wanting to go up higher and higher to get more speed. One of the times he went down, he got caught on some rough snow and ended up doing a flip on his sled! He was a bit scared when he landed, but when the other children around thought that it was so cool, he was excited! He had the best time, and played in the snow for almost 4hrs.!

Julia started the day off a bit rough by falling down and getting a fat lip (she is my accident prone child!!), but once her lip stopped hurting and she learned how to walk in her boots, she started having a great time! She loved just walking around in the snow and following the geese around that were there. She also really liked just sitting at the picnic table playing with the snow that had landed on it.

We were there for about 4hrs. and had the best time! By the time we left, the kids were EXHAUSTED and slept the entire way home.

Hollow Hills Elementary

For the past few weeks or so, I have been applying Micah to all of the different elementary schools here in Simi Valley because I don't really like the one he was assigned to go to. One of the schools I had applied him to is Hollow Hills Elementary school. It is a magnet school here in Simi Valley and rated one of the top elementay schools. There were 45 spots open, and about 150 applicants. I was really hoping for Micah to get a spot, but I wasn't completly sure. However, today in the mail, we got notice that Micah was accepted to Hollow Hills! I am SO SO excited because I fell in love with the school at the informational meeting and REALLY wanted Micah to get in after that! I go in next week to officially register him and as of September 2009 he will be a kindergardener at Hollow Hills Elementary!!!

Julia's new crib

For Christmas last year (Dec. 2008), my grandma Phyllis and Papa Tony bought Julia a crib, highchair and stroller set for her baby dolls. However, Julia seems to think the crib is for her! She always sits in it and plays - its so cute!
