Underwood Family Farm
On Sunday (April 26th), I took Micah and Julia to Underwood Family Farm in Moorpark. It is a working farm, with SO much for the children to do! You have the option of taking a tractor ride out into the fields to pick your own strawberries, they have a petting zoo, farm animals that the children can feed, train rides, a bounce house and many play areas set up around the farm. Both Micah and Julia's favorite part was the petting zoo. They had several goats and sheep for the children to pet. Julia especially loved the baby goat. I had to watch her because she kept trying to pick him up and kiss him.

Julia talking
Julia knows more words than she lets other people hear. Here is a video of some of the words that she does know!

Janss Marketplace
These past few days have been EXTRA hot here (about 95 degrees), so today I decided to take Micah and Julia to the Janss Marketplace so that they could run through their water fountain. In hot weather, it is full of kids running around! Micah and Julia both had SO much fun! They ran through the fountain for about 2hrs., and were so exhausted by the time we left.
Sometimes they do like eachother!

Easter
Micah had been SO excited for Easter! Easter morning, he woke up bright and early (around 6am!) and was so excited to see his Easter basket from the Easter bunny! He ran right into our room with and wanted to open it right away! Julia was still asleep, and we didn't want to wake her up early because then she would be in an awful mood. So we let Micah go ahead and open up his basket, but we made him wait to do the Easter egg hunt. Julia woke up about a half an hour later, and although she had no idea what was going on, she was so surprised to see an Easter basket waiting for her as well! She opened it up and instantly loved the baby doll inside. Once the baskets were open, they both searched for the eggs that the Easter bunny had hidden. They had so much fun!
Later in the afternoon, we all went to my Aunt Liz's and Uncle Tony's house for Easter. Everyone had a great time! There was tons of food, fun and Easter Baskets for the kids! Micah and Julia were SO happy with all of their Easter baskets from the family and had a great time searching for Easter eggs with their cousins!

Solvang
* I forgot to post the Solvang trip first*
On our way to San Jose, we stopped in Solvang. We only got to walk around for a few minutes because Micah fell and got hurt (notice the scabs on his lip and nose in the San Jose and San Francisco pictures). It is a beatiful little city though and we all enjoyed looking at the buildings and going into some of the little shops and bakerys.
Lombard Street and Pier 39
On Friday (4/10), we went to San Francisco with Silvia and Siori. On our way there, we stopped at an amazing Basque resturant! Silvia's father was Basque and she wanted to share a little bit of the culture with us. It is one of the best resturants we have been to! We also got to look at pictures of Basque Country and see a Pelota court (A sport played with a ball using one's hand, a racket, a wooden bat, or a basket propulsor, against a wall).
In San Francisco, we went to Pier 39 and down Lombard street. Micah really liked Lombard street. He enjoyed going down the big windy road. Julia was asleep for it, so she didn't notice anything.
Pier 39 was a lot of fun. We walked around and looked in some shops, and we also showed Micah and Julia the Sea Lions. They really enjoyed watching them. Julia was the most excited to see them. Micah liked picking out chocolate in ghirardelli.
After San Francisco, we went back to Silvia and Shuji's home in San Jose and had dinner and visited. Micah was also really excited because he got to build his spongebob lego set with Kenji.
Saturday was our last day in San Jose. That morning, we went to Santana St. (much like Rodeo Dr. in Beverly Hills) with Silvia, Shuji, Siori and Fermin. It is a beautiful street to walk down!
We had a great time on our vacation and we were so happy to be able to spend a week with Kenji's parents! We can't wait to go back!
California Academy of Sciences (San Francisco)
On Thursday (4/9), we went to the California Academy of Science Museum in San Francisco with Kenji's mom, Silvia. It is an amazing museum, with so much to see! They have a live roof, an incredible aquarium (Micah and Julia LOVED the aquarium!!), a rainforest, a natural history exhibit and so much more!! Micah and Julia had the best time. We spent about 3hrs. total in the museum, and they could have stayed much longer! Both Micah and Julia enjoyed the aquarium the best. We were down there for about 2hrs.! Micah liked all of the big fish and Julia loved the eels! Micah also really enjoyed watching the albino crocodile. The museum is just amazing, and my descriptions do not do it justice, you should visit the website, http://www.calacademy.org/ !!
After the museum, we met Kenji's dad, Shuji, for dinner. We had a great time visiting over dinner and walking around the mall afterwards. Micah was SO happy because his Abuela and Abuelo got him a spongebob lego set!
