Yesterday (1/23/11) the kids went to a birthday party at Jolly Jumps. It's an indoor play place that has 2 rooms full of bounce houses, rock climbing and a spin ride. Micah and Julia had so much fun!
Julia has always come with me to take Micah to the dentist, but she has never had her own teeth cleaned. Today was her first appointment. She did AMAZING! We have the best childrens dentist and they were SO good with her that she let them do the entire cleaning. They were able to do a full cleaning - which they usually aren't able to do with 3yr. olds because they are too afraid. Since she did so well and was so well behaved, they let her pick out 4 toys - she was incredibly happy about that! She loves the dentist and can't wait to go back!
The day before school started again (last day of Christmas vacation), Kenji and I took the kids to the snow! We drove up to Frazier Park because we thought there would be plenty of snow there - but we were wrong! No snow in Frazier Park yet. Kenji was determined to find snow and so he kept driving .. and driving! Micah was getting antsy and I was getting anxious (because I don't like driving in the mountains), but Kenji really wanted the kids (and us) to have a fun day in the snow - so he drove on! About another 30 minutes up the road and mountain, he found the snow!! The kids were SO happy! We found a good place to stop and we had a fun afternoon in the snow. We were there for about 3hrs.. The kids got to sled A LOT. Micah and Julia both loved it SO much! Micah sled down HUGE hills and Julia sled down some big ones too. When Julia would get to the bottom of the hill, she would yell, "THAT WAS AWESOME!" After about 3hrs., both kids were getting so tired and it was getting much much colder - so we headed back. We stopped in town for some dinner and then headed home. It was a really great day! The kids, Kenji and I had a lot of fun. We were very happy that Kenji didn't listen to Micah and I and kept going until he found the snow!
Last week Kenji and I took the kids to Brunswick bowling alley. Both Micah and Julia LOVE bowling! They have so much fun each time they go (although, they have only been about 2 or 3 times so far). Julia gets SO excited when she knocks down some pins, and this time Micah got SO excited because he bowled a strike and a spare!
