Micah turns 7!!

On Saturday (5/21/11) Micah had his birthday party! We had the party at my moms house in Thousand Oaks. It was quite the event! There were over 40 kids there and we had a reptile show for Micah and all the kids. They LOVED it! We had the most amazing reptile show come. They let all the kids hold everything and walk around with all the reptiles. They also had a wallabee that hopped all around the yard and through the kids. After the reptile show we had a pinata and cake. It was such a great day! Micah had the BEST time and I was so happy to see it!

Golden Bear!

Today Micah got a Golden Bear award at school today! He got the award for most improved in his writing. He has been doing a great job in school this year. His writing has especially improved. We are so very proud of him!!

Picking strawberries at Underwood Family Farm

Julia got to go on a field trip to Underwood Family Farm for strawberry picking! She had so much fun! We rode on a tractor out to the strawberry fields, and we each got to fill a container up with strawberries. Julia loved it! After the strawberry picking we took Julia around the rest of the farm. She got to see all of the animals, ride to ponies, the train and bounce in the bounce house.

Micah update!

We FINALLY got the refferal for Micah to see a surgeon here. When we got there, they took the plaster cast off to look at the stitches underneath. The wounds look GREAT! The surgeon in Chile did such an amazing job with Micah that both areas were healing SO well! For as bad as they looked before the surgery, they look so good now! I am so happy with that and so incredibly thankful for such an amazing surgeon in Chile. Once the stitches were out, they took some xrays (just to be 100% sure that the bone was good) and then recasted the leg. Micah is now in a walking cast (although he still uses the wheelchair because he gets so tired from walking with the cast on and we don't want to put TOO much pressure on the tendons). He is in the cast for about 2 more weeks and then he will have it off. Once the cast is off for good, he will need some physical therapy because his ankle is incredibly stiff. He can't make the walking motion with his foot, so he will need some work on that. We are so happy that Micah is healing so well and I can't wait until he is 100% again!

Gymnastics!

Julia has been taking ballet classes for months now, but she decided that she would rather try gymnastics. Yesterday was her first day and she LOVED it! I only have a picture of her before class because I didn't charge my camera right!!! More pictures will come next week! But she had a great time! She walked on a balanca beam, did somersaults and hung from bars. She can't wait to go back next week!

Gaga oh lala

Julia is SO excited about her new Lady Gaga shirt! She fell in love with with Gaga when her music appeared in the movie, Percy Jackson Lightning Thief (her favorite movie). When we saw this shirt, she HAD TO HAVE IT!
