When we got back to Pilar and Rodrigos house from Chuck E. Cheese, Micah ran into the house first. He wanted to run into the backyard to play for a little bit before heading out to the airport. When he ran in, he thought the sliding glass door was open - but he was wrong. It was closed and he ran right through it. I heard a loud crash coming from the other room so I ran back right away. I saw that he had ran through the glass door and I saw that he was bleeding A LOT from A LOT of places!
We rushed him quickly to the hospital (which was luckily just a couple miles away). He was so scared and so was I, but I was trying to not cry for Micah. We got him into the hospital and they started working right away to stop the bleeding. They bandaged his arms and legs. They told us that the cut was SO bad on his leg, that he needed surgery.
Six hours later (they had to wait for the food in his stomach to digest) Micah went in for surgery on his leg. The glass had cut through his right calf all the way to the bone. It cut all 3 tendons in his calf and severed a nerve. The surgeon luckily was able to repair the tendons. The nerve was severed, and they couldn't repair it. A portion of the top of his foot will always be numb.
Right now Micah is in a cement cast for about 3 more weeks and then a walking cast for 2 weeks after that. He also has stitches on each arm by his elbow, his inner thigh, his knee and of course his calf. The calf is by far his worst injury. For as bad as his injurys were, we are just SO thankful that they weren't worse and that nothing (Thank God) cut his face or chest. He is healing well and feels no pain. He has been in great spirits throughout this whole thing.
